ABS post-2020: What is needed?

The 10th anniversary of the Nagoya Protocol is an occasion to reflect on the implementation and effectiveness of the international regulations on access to genetic resources and fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising out of their use.

On November 25, 2020, the final event of a global ABS conference will take place, which aims to summarize the status of the discussions and to develop an outlook on how the topic of ABS should be addressed in the Global Biodiversity Framework post-2020. In the context of the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the Nagoya Protocol, the UNDP-GEF Global Access and Benefit-sharing (ABS) Project, in partnership with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, has organiszed this Global ABS Conference as online event.
