New call for funding for the Forest Climate Fund: Forest ecophysiology and climate change effects

The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) launched a call for funding via Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe (FNR) for "Forest Ecophysiology and Climate Change Effects".

The call for funding for the Forest Climate Fund is divided into three sub-areas:
A) Model projects for the demonstration of silvicultural methods for the development of climate-tolerant and adaptable mixed forest ecosystems and for the improvement of the landscape water balance,
B) Model projects for the further development and supplementation of existing monitoring systems as pilot sites for the scientific analysis of climate change impacts on forest ecosystems,
C) Applied research to identify forest vegetation potential, to evaluate stress factors, to identify climate-tolerant and adaptable tree species or provenances, to field phenotyping of forest tree species as a breeding basis including re-evaluation of forest seed stands and to cause-effect analysis of current forest damage.
